COBLATION technology involves the generation and application of a high-energy field called "discharge plasma". This plasma removes tissue through a chemical process in which highly energized particles in the plasma break down molecules in the tissue. COBLATION technology offers surgeons two distinct advantages:
- COBLATION operates at lower temperatures than other radio frequency (RF) based technologies
- The plasma field of 100mm - 200mm enables the precise removal of soft tissue
