Novimed was founded in 1988 by Marianne Wüst as a sole proprietorship. The aim was to position itself as a reliable and professional partner in head surgery (ORL and maxillofacial surgery). In 2000, Novimed became a public limited company and expanded its product range as follows:

Novimed was put to the test in 2016. Marianne Wüst passed away on May 22, 2016 after a short, serious illness.
Since then, the company has continued to be run with the same company philosophy as Mrs. Wüst.
