The platinum chain (lid chain) is an implant for restoring dynamic lid closure in cases of paralytic lagophthalmos due to facial nerve palsy (lid loading).

The Berghaus/Schrom eyelid chain is an implant for restoring dynamic eyelid closure in cases of paralytic lagophthalmos due to facial nerve palsy.

The unique chain design allows the implant to be adapted to the tarsus in an optimal and flexible way. The pre-drilled holes are used for pretarsal fixation of the implant.

The platinum and iridium material offers some clear advantages over the widely used gold implants, particularly in terms of biocompatibility and better weight distribution. The combination of material and shape is reflected in better results on average and a lower complication rate.
