Tuba Eustachi

Here you will find all information about tube dilatation. Novimed AG was there from the very beginning when the first dilatations were performed in Switzerland. We are in contact with all users and the manufacturer to constantly develop new products for the Tuba Eustachii.

Balloon dilatation of the Eustachian tube is a new method of treating a tubal ventilation disorder.

The TubaVent balloon catheter was specially developed for this procedure and adapted to the anatomical features of the Eustachian tube. It therefore offers the following advantages:

  • The optimal length ensures that the entire cartilaginous part of the tube is stretched
  • A rounded catheter tip and the special surface (shaft & balloon) allow the catheter to be advanced atraumatically
  • Controlled stretching to 3.28 mm Ø prevents overstretching of the tube

TubaInsert and TubaVent short

The well-known reliability of the reusable insertion instrument has been transferred to the new single-use instruments. This was developed in close cooperation with users.

  • Due to shorter insertion distance, easier handling in confined anatomical conditions, e.g. in children
  • Three different geometries are available for all anatomies
  • Optimum ergonomics and ribbed surface for comfortable and safe handling
  • Length compatibility with the TubaVent® short
  • The single-use insertion instrument eliminates time-consuming reprocessing processes
  • Particularly suitable for first-time users

The TubaClean® was developed so that the tube can also be probed or rinsed during middle ear surgery. The catheter can be used to check the patency of the Eustachian tube and to flush it with sterile fluid (e.g. sterile isotonic saline solution NaCl 0.9%) during a wide range of middle ear surgery procedures (tympanoplasty I to III or tympanoscopy).

Advantages:

  • Testing the patency of the Eustachian tube from the situs of the ear
  • Removal of mucus from the tympanic cavity
  • Improved patency allows faster healing
  • Cleaning after drilling in the middle ear
